Throughout the year, The Geneva Association organises or supports a series of about 15 conferences. These events are either linked to our research projects or to additional specific research topics. In addition, other one-off seminars and conferences on specific questions of interest to the insurance community are organised on a regular basis, bringing the annual total of conferences to about 20.
The most prominent and important event of The Geneva Association is of course the yearly General Assembly with about 50 to 60 insurance CEOs attending. During two full days, not counting the social events, the members of the Association discuss in intensive sessions the strategic issues facing their industry. The debates are prepared in advance with the industry leaders and the help of outside experts. They lead to a series of background papers and comments that are later published by The Geneva Association. The topics are selected by the Board and prepared by the members themselves with the help of the General Secretariat. This formula has resulted in high-quality contributions.
Below is the list of The Geneva Association's forthcoming conferences.

Future, Finance, Trust, Facts. Challenges for financial and insurance industry between reality and perception
Description: To open a debate upon the key role of insurance and financial institutions in protecting society & dealing and managing medium-long term risks, focusing their possible and future scenarios in the new finance era. During the crisis the insurance sector has displayed strong resilience confronting the systemic risks which have deeply impacted the financial and real economy. Despite this, the insurance sector has not completely managed to make itself widely known as a mainstay of financial stability in the public opinion nor has it emerged as one of the healthy pieces in a system partially ill. This year edition wants to explain this paradox.
Target audience: Leading financial executives and senior managers from the insurance sector and the wider financial community, academics, institutional and third sector representatives, media.
