Throughout the year, The Geneva Association organises or supports a series of about 15 conferences. These events are either linked to our research projects or to additional specific research topics. In addition, other one-off seminars and conferences on specific questions of interest to the insurance community are organised on a regular basis, bringing the yearly total of conferences to about 20.
The most prominent and important event of The Geneva Association is of course the yearly General Assembly with about 50 to 60 insurance CEOs attending. During two full days, not counting the social events, the members of the Association discuss in intensive sessions the strategic issues facing their industry. The debates are prepared in advance with the industry leaders and the help of outside experts. They lead to a series of background papers and comments that are later published by The Geneva Association. The topics are selected by the Board and prepared by the members themselves with the help of the General Secretariat. This formula has resulted in high-quality contributions.
