The Geneva Association has selected Chenyuan Liu of the University of Wisconsin - Madison to receive its research grant for 2019. The call for papers was on 'Digitalization and Health Insurance'.
Chenyuan Liu’s research initiative, ‘Health Insurance Plan Design in the Digital Market: Evidence from the ACA Exchange’, will focus on the private health insurance plans in the U.S. available via HealthCare.gov. These plans provide health insurance to more than 10 million people.
The study will document the economic value of these plans to consumers, study how regulation in plan design could improve the market outcome of digitalization and address which standardized plan designs the market should offer.
