The Geneva Association is pleased to announce an internship opening for a Communications & Events Assistant. S/he will join The Geneva Association’s communications and events team, supporting the Director of Communications and broader team’s day-to-day operations.


Activities and responsibilities

This role involves providing support in the following areas:

Event planning and logistics

  • In-person, virtual and hybrid events – invitations and registrations; liaise with event hosts, speakers, vendors, etc.
  • Onsite support (opportunities for international travel)

Content creation and management

  • Produce written and visual content to promote the GA’s research and events
  • Maintain web pages and digital platforms; social media
  • Proofreading and basic design
  • Oversee and update content calendar


  • Support to Director of Communications: organise internal and external meetings; slide presentations; shipments; expense reporting
  • Events administration: arrange event prep calls and tech checks; build event surveys & rundowns; organise travel
  • Contacts management: ‘clean’ event registration spreadsheets; help maintain CRM database and lists of key organisational contacts

This position is based out of The Geneva Association’s office in Zurich, combining in-office and remote work.


Required skills and experience

  • Student or graduate in communications, marketing, events or hospitality
  • Some work/internship experience, ideally in an international setting
  • Competent in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat and Illustrator, virtual event software (e.g. Zoom); experience with CRM databases and MailChimp is a plus
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and working across time zones
  • Native or fluent in English; other languages desirable
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and carries out responsibilities with a high level of precision
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in person and by phone and email; takes a customer-service approach with internal and external stakeholders


Compensation and terms

  • CHF 2,000 per month for a period of 12 months
  • The start date is as soon as possible or by 1 February 2022.
  • A valid Swiss work permit or Swiss or EU-25EFTA citizenship is required for this position.
