Position
The Geneva Association is hiring a Digital Content Manager, a role tasked with taking the organisation’s online presence to the next level through best-in-class management of the The Geneva Association’s digital channels; namely, its website and social media platforms.
With an emphasis on content creation and performance, the Digital Content Manager is responsible for leveraging the organisation’s digital presence to build the organisation’s brand and showcase its activities (research, events and outreach) to key audiences.
This role reports into the Director Communications and is based out of The Geneva Association’s office in Zurich, with the possibility of some remote work.
Activities and responsibilities
- The Digital Content Manager will take a strategic and creative approach to delivering a high-impact digital content strategy for the GA.
- Maximise the organisation’s digital platforms in communications campaigns around the GA’s research reports (ca. 8-10 per year), conferences (ca. 8 per year), academic journals, prizes and other initiatives
- Write and publish web copy, social media posts, tweets, etc., including live coverage of Geneva Association events
- Create and deploy engaging assets (e.g. infographics, social media cards), distilling complex information into clear and attractive visuals;
- In collaboration with the communications team and agencies, plan and manage the production of interviews, videos, podcasts (new) and other content formats
- Lead website manager: regularly update content, maintain archive, brainstorm/ implement new features, troubleshoot; manage relationship with website agency
- Digital media governance – ensure The Geneva Association’s style and tone of voice are reflected in all digital content; adhere to the organisation’s brand guidelines; train/support colleagues on their own work-related social media activities as needed
- Build and manage, on an ongoing basis, the organisation’s social media calendar – ongoing coordination with the communications team and research directors to identify and advance content opportunities
- Closely monitor the organisation’s social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube); take a proactive approach to optimising content in ‘real time’
- Monitor, collect and analyse available data on website performance and the impact of social media content against relevant KPIs; create and present regular reports and optimisation proposals for Director of Communications, management team and external stakeholders
- Contribute to departmental tasks as needed – press clippings, PowerPoint presentations, managing agency relationships, overseeing budget/expenses, proofreading and ad hoc support to the Director of Communications.
Required skills and experience
- Crisp, engaging writing style (finalists will be asked to take a short writing test)
- Trained and highly competent in Drupal website management software
- Proven track record of growing corporate social media profile and presence (e.g. number of followers) and successful implementation of digital content strategy
- Deep knowledge of Google Analytics, Hootsuite, and other relevant tools
- Skilled in Adobe Suite (photo editing, graphic design), Canva, video production and editing
- Experienced in digital content planning and management
- Fluent in English; other languages are a plus
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, marketing or other relevant field
- Preference given to those with the above qualifications who have also worked in the financial services industry
