The scale and pace of digitalisation is fundamentally changing the risk profile of businesses, mainly linked to the shift towards intangible assets for value creation among digital firms. Many of these intangible assets remain uninsured, leaving digital entrepreneurs and start-ups vulnerable to emerging risks and liabilities. This presents both challenges and opportunities for the insurance industry.
A recent Geneva Association report investigated the nature of the main risks facing digital businesses and the changes required within the insurance industry to meet the needs of this customer segment more effectively.
This #RiskConversations webinar on 23 November presented the findings of the report in more detail, and brought together insurance industry representatives and digital entrepreneurs for a conversation on initiatives that are already underway and where further progress may be needed.
