Carbon capture and storage (CCS) has an important role to play in decarbonising hard-to-abate industries. But how can risks associated with CCS projects be effectively managed and shared – and what role can insurance play in making projects more bankable, investable and scalable?

In this one-hour webinar, experts from the Geneva Association, Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) and Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) CCUS Initiative will discuss a new joint white paper and its guiding tenets for addressing CCS challenges. The panel will explore how CCS value chains can be designed and governed to enhance insurability and support the responsible scale-up of CCS for industrial decarbonisation.

Speakers:

  • Peter Golding, Senior Manager, Oil and Gas Climate Initiative
  • Maryam Golnaraghi, Director Climate Change & Environment, Geneva Association
  • Michel Krenzer, Energy Transition Lead, SCOR
  • Juho Lipponen, Coordinator, Clean Energy Ministerial CCUS Initiative
  • Iain Macdonald, CCUS Workstream Lead, Oil and Gas Climate Initiative and Principal Technical Carbon Advocacy Advisor, Shell
